コロナ禍で人と人を隔てるものとして当たり前になったビニールカーテンを、実家の米屋に設置された10kg の米が陳列する棚に展示した。

学校に行って制作もできない、外にも出られない、そんな環境に慣れることができず、家でずっと米を作っていた。紙粘土から一粒、一粒ちねっていたのだ。自分の無力さと表現を諦めきれない気持ちで色々よく分からなくなっていた。

奥の物が見えなくなるように日の丸弁当、のりたま弁当、海苔弁当の 3 種類に模した米たちを付属させた。

米と人を隔てることで本来の目的を果たせなくなった ビニールカーテンに何の意味があるのだろうか。

I exhibited vinyl curtains, which have become commonplace as a means of separating people during the COVID-19 pandemic, at my parents' rice shop. I hung them on a shelf for displaying 10kg of rice.

I couldn't get used to being in an environment where I couldn't go to school and create anything, and I couldn't go outside, so I spent all my time growing rice at home. I kneaded each grain of paper clay one by one. I was feeling powerless and unable to give up on expression, and I was no longer sure what to do.

I attached three types of rice that resembled a Hinomaru bento, a Nori Tama bento, and a Nori bento, so that the objects at the back would not be visible.

What is the point of a vinyl curtain that no longer fulfills its original purpose by separating people from rice?
